Harboring: Red Brook Harbor, Cataumet

Harboring heads to Cataumet.

Cataumet is one of the villages in Bourne. It's also CALM, as you see. Nothing says "calm" like ALL CAPS.

I doubt that this is a case of it, but you generally don't want your boat to be larger than your house.

Better, but maybe not better enough...

Parker's Boat Yard was our host this afternoon... and, being Ch. 69, you know they both give and take.

You never want to shoot hoop anywhere that there's a chance of your ball ending up in Buzzards Bay.

The working fishermen love it when your ten year old grabs the rope and gets off a good dozen clangs out of nowhere before Mommy can corral him... or so I hear.

Sailboats always have to park nose-in because you can't sail backwards... Oh wait, I'm being told that I speak foolishness.

Nothing loosens up the wait-time at the boat ramp like a good photographer!

Red Brook Harbor is a marvelously sheltered place to dock your boat, as it is protected by some combination of Bassetts Island, Wing's Neck and Scraggy Neck.

Chillin' at Parker's with the big blue boat and a short walk to the car.

If you store them out here, you don't have to back them up at any point.

I'm assuming that there's a second door somewhere...

When you drive the mooring buoy boat, your concerns are more pragmatic than aesthetic.

"Sailing, sailing, over the marina parking lot...."

If you don't like this boat, I don't like you.

When someone says "Cataumet, Massachusetts," you immediately think "Samba!"

Keep an eye on the place for us, will ya?
